The Venus Transverse of the Sun

Yesterday I got to witness Venus crossing the Sun. Here in Australia we got a pretty good view of it.

It started around 2 in the afternoon and went on until sunset. However, it has been raining and cloudy here all week. Around 2:30 the clouds broke and we got to see the sun for the first time all day.

On of the guys at work brought bincolulars. So we set them up on the window facing the sun. We projected the image onto a wall.

There it was, clear as day. We had the sun projected about 3 feet diameter on a partition wall. There in the lower right hand corner was a small pea sized dot moving slowing left to to right across the bottom of the Sun.
